In a collaborative group project with three peers, the charity organization of GEARS (Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue Society) was chosen to be re-branded. My individual deliverables for this project were putting together an overview of brand guidelines book, as well as updating the social media presence of GEARS.
The first individual deliverable that was completed, was a simplified brand guidelines book for the organization's re-brand. The content of the guidelines such as the logo, colour palettes, typefaces, were decided upon collaboration with all members of the group, but my individual deliverable consisted of: putting together all of the information of the re-brand, and stylizing and designing the layouts of the booklet, and creating any additional branded content.
A minimalistic, and clean approach was used in creating the layouts of each page of the book, and the design decision of creating most pages in the book with the same format and layout was made, to keep the whole book unified. The re-branded colour palette of GEARS was used throughout the book to maintain the visual appearance of their branding and to keep the pages cohesive.
In rebranding the social media marketing of GEARS, their posts were made to be more curated, and the overall appearance of their social media accounts more aesthetically pleasing and professional-looking. Improvements in their brand's social engagement and visual identity, were made to create a much more effective social media presence. As well, new web banners were created for the organization's Facebook and Twitter accounts.
